The present invention relates to a vehicle having an electric motor, which is able to prevent the chattering of a braking light in accordance with regenerative braking, and a method of controlling the brake light for the same. In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the method of controlling the brake light for the vehicle having the electric motor as a power source can comprise: a step of determining if the vehicle deceleration by the regenerative braking through the electric motor is within a hysteresis section between a lights-out threshold reference, which is a lights-out reference for the brake light, and a lighting threshold reference, which is a lighting reference for the brake light; a step of, when the vehicle deceleration is within the hysteresis section, determining the status of the brake light before the vehicle deceleration enters the hysteresis section; and a step of, when it is determined that the brake light is turned on or off because of a cause other than the regenerative braking before entering the hysteresis section, setting or canceling the request for turning on the brake light by regenerative braking by corresponding to the determined status of the brake light. 본 발명은 회생제동에 따른 제동등의 채터링을 방지할 수 있는 전기 모터를 구비하는 차량 및 그를 위한 제동등 제어 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전기모터를 동력원으로 구비한 차량의 제동등 제어 방법은, 상기 전기모터를 통한 회생제동에 의한 차량 감속도가 제동등의 소등 기준이 되는 소등 임계기준과 상기 제동등의 점등 기준이 되는 점등 임계기준 사이의 히스테리시스 구간에 있는지 여부를 판단하는 단계; 상기 차량 감속도가 상기 히스테리시스 구간에 있는 경우, 상기 차량 감속도가 상기 히스테리시스 구간에 진입하기 전에 상기 제동등의 상태를 판단하는 단계; 및 상기 히스테리시스 구간에 진입하기 전에 상기 제동등이 상기 회생제동 이외의 원인으로 점등 또는 소등된 상태로 판단된 경우, 상기 판단된 제동등의 상태에 대응하여 회생제동에 의한 제동등 점등 요청을 설정하거나 해제하는 단계를 포함할 수 있다.
