A POD chamber air conditioning system for a polar vessel, and a method thereof are disclosed. According to the present invention, the method for air conditioning a POD room for a polar vessel may ventilate three POD chambers with two fan sets by installing two sets of intake and exhaust fans for ventilation of the three POD chambers disposed on port, center, and starboard (STBD) of the stern bottom of the polar vessel, configuring a first set of intake and exhaust fans for ventilation of the center and starboard POD chamber, and a second set of intake and exhaust fans for ventilation of the port and center POD chamber, and selectively performing intake and exhaust of the center POD chamber by the first or second sets of fans according to the POD and fan operating conditions. 극지용 선박의 POD 추진기실 공조 시스템 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 극지용 선박의 POD 추진기실 공조 방법은, 극지용 선박에서 선미 선저부의 좌현(PORT), 중앙(Center) 및 우현(STBD)에 배치되는 3개의 POD 추진기실의 통기(ventilation)를 위해 2세트의 흡기 팬과 배기 팬을 설치하되, 제1 흡기 및 배기 팬 세트는 중앙 및 우현 POD 추진기실의 통기용으로, 제2 흡기 및 배기 팬 세트는 좌현 및 중앙 POD 추진기실의 통기용으로 구성하고, 중앙 POD 추진기실은 POD 및 팬 운전 조건에 따라 제1 또는 제2 팬 세트에 의해 선택적으로 흡기 및 배기하여, 2개의 팬 세트로 3개의 POD 추진기실을 통기할 수 있는 것을 특징으로 한다.
