Summary:The present description relates to a lithium secondary battery which includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte containing a lithium salt and an additive represented by chemical formula 4. At least one of the positive electrode and the negative electrode comprises: a current collector; an electrode tab extending from the current collector; an active material layer formed on the current collector; and a film formed on at least one of the current collector and the electrode tab, and including a material represented by chemical formula 1. Specific details regarding the chemical formulas 1 and 4 are as defined in the specification.
