Summary: | The present invention relates to a novel preservative and a method for manufacturing the same. The preservative of the present invention exhibits excellent antibacterial activity on gram-positive bacteria, gram-negative bacteria, yeast, and mold, and has high safety. In addition, the method for manufacturing the preservative of the present invention is a method for enzymatically converting a natural phenolic compound, which exhibits a high reaction conversion rate even under environmentally friendly solvent-free reaction conditions at room temperature and pressure in a short time with a small amount of enzyme.
