Provided are an electronic device and a method for predicting a path of an electronic device. The method may comprise the steps of: emitting a signal toward a ground surface using a first sensor and receiving a signal reflected from a structure of the ground or a subsurface structure; acquiring an image of the structure of the ground or the subsurface structure based on the received signal; determining a location of the electronic device when the location of the electronic device can be determined based on the acquired image and an image pre-stored in the electronic device; acquiring surrounding environment information of the electronic device using a second sensor when it is impossible to determine the location of the electronic device based on the acquired image and the image pre-stored in the electronic device; and storing the acquired image and the determined location of the electronic device in response to determining the location of the electronic device from the acquired surrounding environment information.
