According to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a water purification device for a companion animal comprises: a housing which has an internal space; a water purification flow path which passes through the internal space of the housing and has one side connected to an external flow path in which the water pressure is formed; a filter which is connected to the water purification flow path and configured to purify water received from the water purification flow path; a discharge unit which is connected to the other side of the water purification flow path and configured to discharge the water purified by the filter to the outside; an external water container which is coupled to a front surface of the housing to be disposed on a lower portion of the discharge unit and configured to store the water discharged by the discharge unit; a first valve which is coupled to one portion of the water purification flow path at the rear of the filter and configured to adjust the pressure of water moving from the water purification flow path to the inside of the filter; a second valve which is coupled to one portion of the water purification flow path at the front of the filter and configured to allow purified water to move from the water purification flow path to the discharge unit or block the movement thereof; a first sensor which is mounted on the housing and configured to sense a movement of a companion animal; and a controller which is electrically connected to the second valve and the first sensor and configured to control the second valve based on a detection signal of the first sensor.
