A smart notification device for a vehicle and a method thereof are disclosed. The smart notification device of the present invention includes: an object detection unit for detecting an object within a predetermined range from the vehicle; a notification unit that outputs notification of the external situation of the vehicle to at least one of the inside of the vehicle and a user terminal; and a control unit for providing information on the outside of the vehicle to a driver through the notification unit by varying a driver warning level according to the position of the object when the object is detected through the object detection unit. 차량용 스마트 알림 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 차량용 스마트 알림 장치 및 방법은, 차량으로부터 일정 범위 이내에 존재하는 물체를 감지하는 물체감지부; 차량 내부 및 사용자 단말 중 적어도 하나 이상에 차량 외부 상황 인지 알림을 출력하는 알림부; 및 물체감지부를 통해 물체가 감지되면, 물체의 위치에 따라 운전자 경고 단계를 다르게 하여 알림부를 통해 운전자에게 차량 외부 상황 인지 정보를 제공하는 제어부;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
