본 발명은 신규한 구조적 부류의 페날카민, 상기 페날카민을 포함하는 경화제 조성물, 그의 용도, 뿐만 아니라 이러한 페날카민 및 조성물을 제조하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 페날카민은 카르다놀을 알데히드 화합물 및 트리아미노노난과 반응시킴으로써 제조될 수 있다. 이들 경화제 조성물은 에폭시 수지를 경화, 경질화, 및/또는 가교시키는데 사용될 수 있다. 본 발명의 경화제 조성물은 낮은 점도를 가지며, 에폭시 수지의 경화를 초래하기 위해 순수하게 또는 최소량의 유기 용매 또는 희석제에 용해되어 사용될 수 있다. The present invention relates to a new structural class of phenalkamines, curing agent compositions comprising the phenalkamines, their use, as well as and methods of producing such phenalkamines and compositions. The phenalkamines of the present invention can be prepared by reacting cardanol with an aldehyde compound and triaminononane. These curing-agent compositions may be used to cure, harden, and/or crosslink an epoxy resin. The curing-agent compositions of this invention are of low viscosity and can be used neat or dissolved in a minimum amount of an organic solvent or diluent to effect cure of epoxy resins.
