엔진(1)은, 2행정 주기관(10)과, 주기관(10)에 공기를 도입하는 흡기통로(20)와, 흡기통로(20)를 흐르는 공기를 과급하는 배기터빈 과급기(40)와, 배기터빈 과급기(40)에 의한 과급에 가세하는 가세 장치(70)와, 주기관(10)의 기관회전수를 검출하는 회전수 센서(14)와, 주기관(10)의 가속 시에, 당해 주기관(10)의 기관회전수가 소정 범위 내까지 상승했을 때에, 가세 장치(70)를 작동시키는 컨트롤러(101, 102, 103)를 구비한다. An engine (1) is provided with: a two-stroke main engine (10); an intake passageway (20) which guides air to the main engine (10); an exhaust turbine supercharger (40) which supercharges the air flowing through the intake passageway 20; an assist device (70) which assists the supercharging by the exhaust turbine supercharger (40); a rotational speed sensor (14) which detects the engine rotational speed of the main engine (10); and a controller (101, 102, 103) which, during acceleration of the main engine (10), causes the assist device (70) to operate when the engine rotational speed of the main engine (10) has increased to within a predetermined range.
