Summary:The present invention relates to a method for purifying botulinum toxin comprising: (a) a step of precipitating a culture solution containing the botulinum toxin; (b) a step of finely filtering the botulinum toxin in which a sulfuric acid is precipitated; (c) a step of purifying the finely filtered botulinum toxin by using anion exchange chromatography; and (d) a step of purifying the botulinum toxin by using cation exchange chromatography. The present invention is provided to purify the botulinum toxin with excellent purity and activity in a simple process of the anion exchange chromatography and the cation exchange chromatography, thereby being usefully used for production of the botulinum toxin. 본 발명은 (a) 보툴리눔 독소를 포함하는 배양액을 침전시키는 단계; (b) 황산 침전된 보툴리눔 독소를 미세여과하는 단계; (c) 미세여과된 보툴리눔 독소를 음이온 교환 크로마토그래피를 이용하여 정제하는 단계; 및 (d) 양이온 교환 크로마토그래피를 이용하여 보툴리눔 독소를 정제하는 단계를 포함하는 보툴리눔 독소의 정제방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따르면 음이온 교환 크로마토그래피 및 양이온 교환 크로마토그래피의 단순 공정으로 순도 및 활성이 뛰어난 보툴리눔 독소를 정제할 수 있어, 보툴리눔 독소 생산에 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
