An embodiment of the present invention relates to a steering apparatus for a vehicle, which includes: a damping member formed in a hollow shape and having a protrusion supported by a rack housing and elongated in an axial direction on an outer circumferential surface; and a bush that is supported on an inner circumferential surface of the damping member and supports a sliding of a rack bar, wherein the bush supporting the sliding of the rack bar reduces an area supported by the rack housing, and the damping member coupled to the bush increases the area supported by the rack housing, thereby facilitating tolerance management between the bush and the rack bar. The axial direction and radial direction loads of the rack bar are supported so that the rack bar slides smoothly, and a collision between the bush and the rack housing and the bush and the rack bar is prevented, thereby improving the damping performance and noise performance. In addition, the friction between the bush and the rack bar is reduced so that the durability against abrasion of the bush is improved and the steering sensation can be increased. 본 실시예들에 의한 자동차의 조향장치는, 중공형상으로 형성되고 외주면에는 랙하우징에 지지되는 돌출부가 축방향으로 길게 형성되는 댐핑부재, 댐핑부재의 내주면에 지지되며 랙바의 슬라이딩을 지지하는 부시를 포함하여, 랙바의 슬라이딩을 지지하는 부시가 랙하우징에 지지되는 면적이 감소되며 부시에 결합되는 댐핑부재가 랙하우징에 지지되는 면적이 증대되고 부시와 랙바 사이의 공차관리가 용이해짐으로써, 랙바의 축방향 및 경방향 하중이 지지되어 랙바가 원활히 슬라이딩되고 부시와 랙하우징 및 부시와 랙바의 충돌이 방지되어 댐핑성능과 노이즈성능이 개선되고 부시와 랙바 사이의 마찰이 저감되어 부시의 마모에 대한 내구성이 향상되고 조향감이 상승될 수 있다.
