The present invention relates to an indoor unit of an air conditioner and a control method thereof. The indoor unit of the air conditioner includes: a sash installed on the wall; a blower fan installed in the sash; and a case provided in front of the sash. The indoor unit of the air conditioner according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with a front discharge unit and a lower discharge unit to diversify the direction of the discharge air flow, thereby enabling customized operation according to the operation mode of the air conditioner. 본 발명은 공기 조화기의 실내기 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 공기 조화기의 실내기에는, 전방 토출부 및 하부 토출부가 구비되어 토출기류의 방향을 다변화 함으로써, 공기 조화기의 운전모드에 따른 맞춤형 운전이 가능하다.
