An air vent apparatus of an electric brake system and a method thereof are disclosed. According to the present invention, the air vent apparatus of an electric brake system comprises: a piston position sensor for detecting a position of a piston installed in a main master cylinder; a motor driving unit for driving a motor that moves the piston; a motor rotation speed detection unit for detecting a rotation speed of the motor; a brake pedal position sensor for detecting a position of a brake pedal; and a control unit which controls the position of the piston by controlling the motor driving unit according to the position of the piston detected by the piston position sensor or the rotation speed of the motor detected by the motor rotation speed detection unit when it is determined that the position of the brake pedal detected by the brake pedal position sensor is in a pressurized state when entering an air bleeding mode. 전동식 브레이크 시스템의 공기빼기 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 전동식 브레이크 시스템의 공기빼기 장치는 주 마스터 실린더에 설치된 피스톤의 위치를 감지하는 피스톤 위치 센서; 피스톤을 이동시키는 모터를 구동시키는 모터 구동부; 모터의 회전속도를 검출하는 모터 회전속도 검출부; 브레이크 페달의 위치를 감지하는 브레이크 페달 위치 센서; 및 공기빼기 모드 진입시, 브레이크 페달 위치 센서에 의해 감지된 브레이크 페달 위치가 가압 상태인 것으로 판단되면, 피스톤 위치 센서에 의해 감지된 피스톤의 위치 또는 모터 회전속도 검출부에 의해 검출된 모터의 회전속도에 따라 모터 구동부를 제어하여 피스톤의 위치를 제어하는 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
