Summary: | The present invention relates to a composition for preventing, ameliorating, or treating diabetes comprising a lactic acid bacterium fermented product of a Paeonia lactiflora extract as an effective ingredient and, more particularly, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating diabetes comprising a lactic acid bacterium fermented product of a Paeonia lactiflora extract as an effective ingredient, a food composition thereof, and a method for converting paeoniflorin. According to the present invention, the lactic acid bacterium fermented product of a Paeonia lactiflora extract can effectively increase a glucose absorption rate by moving glucose to muscle cells, and cause no side effect to the human body by using Paeonia lactiflora and kimchi-derived lactic acid bacteria, which are natural materials, and thus can be useful in food and drug medicines for preventing, ameliorating or treating diabetes.
