Summary:The present invention relates to a device for controlling a motor and a method thereof. The device for controlling a motor comprises: an inverter unit which outputs a three-phase alternating current (AC) current through a plurality of switches which are individually switched by an inputted control signal to drive a three-phase motor; a current detection unit including a plurality of current sensors detecting two or more currents among the three-phase AC currents flowing through the three-phase motor; and a control unit receiving feedback of the current of each phase detected by each current sensor, compensating the current for each phase by applying each compensation gain estimated in advance for each current sensor to the current for each phase in order to compensate a current detection deviation of each current sensor, controlling the inverter unit based on the current for each phase and controlling driving of the three-phase motor. 본 발명은 모터 제어 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 입력되는 제어신호에 의해 각각 스위칭되는 복수의 스위치를 통해 3상 교류전류를 출력하여 3상 모터를 구동하는 인버터부, 3상 모터를 흐르는 3상 교류전류 중 2상 이상의 전류를 검출하는 복수의 전류센서를 포함하는 전류 검출부, 및 각 전류센서에 의해 검출된 각 상의 전류를 피드백받고, 각 전류센서의 전류 검출 편차를 보상하기 위해 각 전류센서에 대하여 미리 추정된 각 보정게인을 피드백받은 각 상의 전류에 적용하여 보정한 후, 보정된 각 상의 전류를 토대로 인버터부를 제어하여 3상 모터의 구동을 제어하는 제어부를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
