The present invention relates to a pouch forming method and a pouch forming device. By the pouch forming method according to the present invention, a receiving portion for receiving an electrode assembly on a pouch sheet is formed, and the pouch forming method comprises: a seating process for seating the pouch sheet on an upper surface of a lower die formed with a forming groove on an upper side; a vacuum stretching process for stretching a part where the receiving portion is formed under the pouch sheet through vacuum; and a receiving portion forming process of pressing the part stretched through the vacuum from the pouch sheet in a direction in which the forming groove is formed with a punch located on the top of the pouch sheet to form the receiving portion. 본 발명은 파우치 포밍 방법 및 파우치 포밍 장치에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 파우치 포밍 방법은, 파우치 시트에 전극 조립체를 수용하는 수용부를 형성시키는 파우치 포밍 방법으로서, 상기 파우치 시트를 상측부에 포밍홈이 형성된 하부 다이의 상면에 안착시키는 안착공정과, 상기 파우치 시트의 하부에서 상기 수용부가 형성되는 부분을 진공을 통해 연신시키는 진공연신공정 및 상기 파우치 시트의 상부에 위치되는 펀치로 상기 파우치 시트에서 진공을 통해 연신된 부분을 상기 포밍홈이 형성된 방향으로 가압하여 상기 수용부를 형성시키는 수용부 형성공정을 포함한다.
