Summary: | According to one embodiment, provided is a positive electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, comprising a nickel-based lithium transition metal oxide including secondary particles in which a plurality of primary particles are aggregated, wherein the secondary particles include a core and a surface layer surrounding the core.
