The present invention relates to an air conditioner capable of relieving accumulated frost on an outdoor heat exchanger in a heating mode and increasing heating efficiency. According to an embodiment of the present invention, an air conditioner comprises: a compressor for compressing a refrigerant; an accumulator disposed at the entrance of the compressor; an indoor heat exchanger disposed at the exit of the compressor; the outdoor heat exchanger disposed at the exit of the compressor; a first flow path switching valve installed between the exit of the compressor and the entrance of the accumulator and between the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger, and switching the flow path of the refrigerant according to a cooling mode or the heating mode; an auxiliary heat exchanger coming in contact with the outdoor heat exchanger and connected to a refrigerant pipe for connecting the indoor heat exchanger and the outdoor heat exchanger; and a second flow path switching valve installed between the exit of the compressor and the entrance of the accumulator and the auxiliary heat exchanger, and switching the flow path of the refrigerant according to the temperature of the outdoor heat exchanger in the heating mode. 본 발명은 난방 모드에서 실외 열교환기의 누적 착상(frost)을 개선시키는 동시에 난방 효율을 높일 수 있는 공기 조화기에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 공기 조화기는, 냉매를 압축시키는 압축기; 상기 압축기의 입구에 배치되는 어큐뮬레이터; 상기 압축기의 출구에 배치되는 실내 열교환기; 상기 압축기의 출구에 배치되는 실외 열교환기; 상기 압축기의 출구와 상기 어큐뮬레이터의 입구와 상기 실내 열교환기 및 실외 열교환기 사이에 설치되고, 냉/난방 모드에 따라 냉매의 유로를 절환하는 제1유로절환밸브; 상기 실외 열교환기와 접촉되고, 상기 실내 열교환기와 실외 열교환기를 연결하는 냉매 배관과 연결되는 보조 열교환기; 및 상기 압축기의 출구와 상기 어큐뮬레이터의 입구 및 상기 보조 열교환기 사이에 설치되고, 난방 모드에서 상기 실외 열교환기의 온도에 따라 냉매의 유로를 절환하는 제2유로절환밸브;를 포함한다.
