A server for generating a three-dimensional image and a method for generating a stereoscopic image may convert a two-dimensional image into a three-dimensional image by using a general editing program instead of using an expensive image conversion program and system. Specifically, the present invention provides the server and the method efficiently convert a two-dimensional image into three-dimensional image through frame analysis, depth map extraction, and image effect addition functions of the two-dimensional image. The server and the method enable the two-dimensional image to be converted into the three-dimensional image without using an expensive imported image conversion program. In addition, the server and the method may reduce the amount of time and labor required for image dimensional conversion. 고가의 영상변환 프로그램과 시스템을 사용하지 않고 일반적인 편집 프로그램을 사용하여 2차원 영상을 3차원으로 변환할 수 있도록 한다. 구체적으로 2차원 영상의 프레임 분석 및 심도 맵 추출, 영상 효과 추가 기능을 통해 2차원 영상을 3차원으로 효율적으로 변환 시키는 입체영상 생성 방법 및 3차원 영상 생성 서버를 제공한다. 3차원 영상생성서버 및 입체영상생성방법은 고가의 수입 영상변환 프로그램을 사용하지 않고도 2차원 영상을 입체영상으로 변환할 수 있도록 한다. 또한, 영상차원변환에 필요한 시간과 노동량을 감소 시킬 수 있다.
