The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating neuroinflammation which contains an extract of Carpomitra costata. The composition reduces the production of inflammatory mediators and cytokines to exhibit an anti-neuroinflammatory effect of microglia, and thus can exhibit effects of preventing and treating neuroinflammation having no side effects even when used for treatment. In addition, the present invention is to provide a pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating neuroinflammation and a functional food composition for preventing and treating neuroinflammation with high preference, wherein the compositions contain the extract of Carpomitra costata. 본 발명은 줄의관말(Carpomitra costata) 추출물을 포함하는 신경 염증 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 염증 매개 인자 및 사이토카인의 생산을 감소시시켜, 소교세포의 항 신경 염증 효과 나타내며, 신경 염증의 치료에 이용하더라도 부작용이 없는 신경 염증 예방 및 치료 효과를 나타낼 수 있다. 또한, 본 발명은 줄의관말(Carpomitra costata) 추출물을 포함하는 신경 염증 예방 및 치료용 약학 조성물 및 기호도 높은 신경 염증 예방 및 치료용 기능성 식품 조성물을 제공하는 것이다.
