Summary: | Provided is a negative electrode active material for a lithium secondary battery, comprising: natural graphite including secondary particles in which a plurality of primary particles are assembled; amorphous carbon present on the surface of the primary particles; and an amorphous carbon coated layer comprising amorphous carbon surrounding the secondary particles. The primary particles have a particle diameter of 5-15 μm, the secondary particles have a particle diameter of 8-24 μm, and the peak intensity ratio I(002)/I(110) measured by an X-ray diffraction analysis method is 120 or less.
