주사형 표시 장치는, 투영 표시용의 레이저광을 출사하는 광원과, 광원으로부터 출사된 레이저광을 집광하는 집광부와, 집광부를 통과한 레이저광을 주사하는 광 주사부와, 이차원으로 배열된 복수의 광 확산 채널을 가지고, 광 주사부에 의해서 주사된 레이저광을 확산시키는 광 확산부를 구비한다. 레이저광의 파장을 λ로 하고, 광 주사부의 유효 개구 지름을 M으로 하고, 광 주사부로부터 광 확산부까지의 거리를 L로 하고, 복수의 광 확산 채널의 배열 피치를 P로 하면, 광 확산부는, 배열 피치가 P≥(4λL)/(πM)에 근거하여 설정된 값이 되도록 구성되어 있다. When a wavelength of the laser light is denoted by λ, an effective opening diameter of the optical scanning unit is denoted by M, a distance from the optical scanning unit to the light diffusion unit is denoted by L, and an arrangement pitch of the plurality of light diffusion channels is denoted by P, the light diffusion unit is configured so that the arrangement pitch becomes a value set on the basis of P ≥ (4λL)/(πM).
