본 발명은 대상에서(,필로그룹phylogroup) I (PHGI),필로그룹phylogroup) II (PHGII), 로제부리아 호미니스(및 서브돌리그라눌럼 바리아빌레()와 같은, 부티레이트-생성 세균의 장내 수준 및/또는 활성을 증가시키기 위한 프리바이오틱으로서 포도 껍질 또는 이를 포함하는 조성물의 용도에 관한 것이다. 보다 구체적으로, 본 발명은 대상에서 장내 세균 불균형을 치료하는 방법에 사용하기 위한 포도 껍질 또는 이를 포함하는 조성물에 관한 것으로, 장내 세균 불균형은 부티레이트-생성 세균 수준 및/또는 활성 감소를 특징으로 한다. 또한, 본 발명은 부티레이트-생성 세균의 감소된 수준 및/또는 감소된 활성을 가지는 대상에서 염증성 또는 비-염증성 장 질환을 치료하는 방법에 사용하기 위한 포도 껍질 또는 이를 포함하는 조성물에 관한 것이다.
