본 발명에서는 인트라 예측 모드 기반 영상 처리 방법 및 이를 위한 장치가 개시된다. 구체적으로, 인트라 예측(intra prediction) 모드 기반으로 영상을 처리하는 방법에 있어서, 인트라 예측(intra prediction) 모드 기반으로 영상을 처리하는 방법에 있어서, 현재 블록의 인트라 예측에 적용되는 예측 모드를 유도하는 단계; 상기 예측 모드의 예측 방향을 기준으로 상기 현재 블록의 양측 경계에 위치하는 참조 샘플들을 이용하는 양방향 인트라 예측(bi-directional intra prediction)이 상기 현재 블록에 적용되는지 여부를 결정하는 단계; 및 상기 예측 모드를 기반으로 상기 현재 블록에 이웃하는 참조 샘플을 이용하여 예측 샘플을 생성하는 단계를 포함하되, 상기 양방향 인트라 예측이 적용되는 경우, 상기 현재 블록에 대한 경계 필터링(boundary filtering)이 생략(skip)될 수 있다. Specifically, a method for processing an image on the basis of an intra prediction mode may comprise the steps of: inducing a prediction mode applied to an intra prediction of a current block; determining whether a bi-directional intra prediction using reference samples located at both boundaries of the current block with respect to a prediction direction of the prediction mode is applied to the current block; and generating a prediction sample by using a reference sample neighboring the current block on the basis of the prediction mode, wherein when the bi-directional intra prediction is applied, boundary filtering for the current block is skipped.
