An externally circulating ball screw includes a screw shaft, a nut, a cover, a return member and a plurality of rolling members. The nut has a concave groove on the outer surface thereof and two return holes inside the concave groove. The first stage in the concave groove of the nut is provided with a first half return passage. The second stage inside the cover is provided with a second half return passage. The second half return passage forms a return passage in common with the first half return passage. Alternatively, a third stage having a return hole is formed in the cover or the concave groove of the nut. A user can combine return passages of different lengths using return members of the same size. 외부 순환식 볼 스크류는 스크류 축, 너트, 커버, 리턴부재 및 복수의 롤링부재를 포함한다. 상기 너트는 외면에 오목홈이 형성되고 오목홈 내부에는 2개의 리턴구멍이 형성된다. 너트의 상기 오목홈 내부의 제1 스테이지는 제1 반 리턴 통로가 구비되고, 커버 내부의 제2 스테이지는 제2 반 리턴 통로가 구비되고, 제2 반 리턴 통로는 제1 반 리턴 통로와 공통으로 리턴 통로를 형성한다. 또는, 커버 내부 또는 너트의 상기 오목홈 내부에는 리턴구멍이 구비된 제3 스테이지가 형성된다. 사용자는 동일한 크기의 리턴부재를 사용하여 길이가 상이한 리턴 통로를 결합할 수 있다.
