The present invention relates to an electronic device including a flexible display capable of changing the size of a display area, which is capable of providing a user interface or a user experience easy to use; and a control method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the electronic device comprises: a first structure moving between a closed state and an open state with respect to a second structure; the second structure; a flexible touch screen display layer including a planar portion and a bendable portion; a processor operatively connected to the flexible touch screen display layer; and a memory operatively connected to the processor.
