유리판(3)의 반송 경로 상에서 유리판(3)으로부터 선두부(3a) 및 최후부(3b)를 불필요부로서 절단한 후, 양 불필요부(3a,3b)를 반송 경로 밖의 폐기 영역까지 이송해서 폐기함에 있어서, 반송 경로 상에 양 불필요부(3a,3b)의 절단을 행하는 공통의 절단 영역(C)을 형성하고, 유리판(3)의 반송에 따라 양 불필요부(3a,3b)를 차례로 절단 영역(C)에 반입해서 절단함과 아울러, 절단 후의 양 불필요부(3a,3b)를 공통의 이송기구(6)를 이용해서 폐기 영역까지 이송하도록 했다.
