촬상 수단이나 조명에 대한 분진의 부착을 억제함으로써 동작 불량이나 오검출의 사태를 저감시키는 것이 가능하고, 또한 촬상 수단이나 조명에 대한 열부하를 저감시켜 비용 상승을 억제하는 것이 가능한 띠상체의 사행량 측정 방법을 제공한다. 띠상체의 반송시에 있어서의 사행량을 측정하는 사행량 측정 방법은, 띠상체의 일측방에, 촬상 수단을 그 광축이 띠상체의 패스 라인 평면에 대하여 기울어진 상태로 배치하는 것과, 띠상체의 타측방에, 촬상 수단으로부터 보아 띠상체의 배후로부터 띠상체에 광을 조사하는 조명을 배치하는 것과, 촬상 수단에 의해 띠상체의 양 에지를 포함하도록 띠상체의 비스듬한 측방으로부터 촬상하는 것과, 촬상 수단으로 촬상된 화상을 사용하여 띠상체의 에지를 검출함과 함께, 검출한 띠상체의 에지 위치 정보에 기초하여 띠상체의 기준 위치로부터의 사행량을 산출하는 것을 포함한다. There is provided a method for measuring a meandering amount of a strip, which is capable of reducing troubles such as operation failure and false detection by suppressing adhesion of dusts to the imaging means and lightings and can decrease heat load to the imaging means and the lightings to suppress the increase of cost. In the method for measuring a meandering amount of a strip during conveyance, an imaging means is arranged in one side of the strip at a state of tilting an optical axis thereof to a pass line plane of the strip and a lighting is arranged in the other side of the strip so as to irradiate light to the strip from the back of the strip viewing from the imaging means, and the strip is shot by the imaging means from an obliquely side so as to include both edges of the strip and the edge of the strip is detected with an image shot by the imaging means and a meandering amount of the strip is calculated based on the detected edge position information of the strip from a standard position.
