The present invention provides a method for authenticating a payment request from a device, and a system thereof. The method for allowing a device to request payment to a point of sale (POS) terminal comprises the steps: storing authentication information generated based on input of a user for a device; and providing the stored authentication information to the POS terminal as the device approaches within a preset range from the POS terminal. The authentication information provided to the POS terminal is compared with the authentication information which is generated based on the input of the user at the POS terminal so as to be used to authenticate a payment request from the device. 디바이스로부터의 결제 요청을 인증하는 방법 및 시스템이 제공된다. 디바이스가 POS 단말에게 결제를 요청하는 방법은, 상기 디바이스에 대한 사용자에 입력에 기초하여 생성된 인증 정보를 저장하는 단계; 및 상기 디바이스가 상기 POS 단말로부터 기 설정된 범위 내에 근접함에 따라, 상기 POS 단말에게 상기 저장된 인증 정보를 제공하는 단계;를 포함하며, 상기 POS 단말에게 제공된 인증 정보는, 상기 POS 단말에서 사용자 입력에 기초하여 생성되는 인증 정보와 비교되어, 상기 디바이스로부터의 결제 요청을 인증하는데 이용된다.
