Summary:A display apparatus comprises: a display panel; a driving unit driving the display panel according to an image signal; a light source unit supplying light for displaying an image on the display panel; and a processor controlling the light source unit to have two or more light emitting sections within a display cycle of one image frame of the image signal and adjusting a width of a first light emitting section differently from a width of a second light emitting section in accordance with the degree of change of the image. Accordingly, the display apparatus may suppress flicker and afterimage phenomena. 디스플레이장치는, 디스플레이 패널과 영상신호에 따라서 디스플레이 패널을 구동시키는 구동부와 디스플레이 패널에 영상이 표시되기 위한 광을 공급하는 광원부와 영상신호의 하나의 영상프레임의 표시 주기 내에 둘 이상의 발광구간을 가지도록 광원부를 제어하고, 영상의 변화 정도에 따라서 둘 이상의 발광구간 중에서 제1발광구간의 폭을 제2발광구간의 폭과 상이하게 조정하는 프로세서를 포함한다. 이로써, 디스플레이장치는 플리커 및 잔상 현상을 억제할 수 있다.
