Summary:According to an embodiment of the present invention, an electroluminescent display device comprises a display panel including a display area in which pixels for displaying an image are arranged. The display area includes a first area, a second area, and a boundary area disposed between the first area and the second area. When the display panel displays a fingerprint recognition pattern, the pixels in the first area emit light with the first brightness, the pixels in the second area emit light with the second brightness lower than the first brightness or do not emit light, and the brightness of the pixels in the boundary area may become lower from the first area to the second area. The difference in brightness at the boundary between a fingerprint recognition area and a non-fingerprint recognition area can be prevented from being recognized by a user. 본 명세서의 실시예에 따른 전계 발광 표시장치는 화상을 표시하는 화소들이 배치된 표시영역을 포함하는 표시패널을 구비하고, 표시영역은 제1 영역, 제2 영역, 및 제1 영역과 제2 영역 사이에 배치된 경계 영역을 포함하며, 표시패널이 지문 인식 패턴을 표시하는 경우, 제1 영역의 화소들은 제1 휘도로 발광하고, 제2 영역의 화소들은 제1 휘도보다 낮은 제2 휘도로 발광하거나 비발광하며, 경계 영역의 화소들의 휘도는 상기 제1 영역에서 상기 제2 영역으로 가까워질수록 점점 낮아질 수 있다.
