Provided are a polarizing plate and an optical display device. The polarizing plate comprises a polarizer, and an adhesive layer and a first polarizer protective film sequentially laminated on the lower surface of the polarizer. A light shielding layer is formed on at least part of an upper surface of the first polarizer protective film, wherein the light shielding layer is composed of one or more printing patterns. The print pattern is composed of a single layer or a multilayer printed layer, wherein the printed pattern has one plane formed at the top.
