The controller receives an FPGA image through a main interface or a sideband interface, and executes an FPGA image by responding to a second command received from the outside. 본 발명의 스토리지 장치는 컨트롤러와 불휘발성 메모리 장치를 포함한다. 컨트롤러는 FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array)를 포함하고, 외부로부터 수신된 제 1 커맨드에 응답하여 FPGA를 업데이트하기 위한 FPGA 이미지를 수신한다. 불휘발성 메모리 장치는 FPGA 이미지를 저장한다. 컨트롤러는 메인 인터페이스 또는 사이드밴드 인터페이스를 통하여 FPGA 이미지를 수신하고, 외부로부터 수신된 제 2 커맨드에 응답하여 FPGA 이미지를 실행한다.
