The present invention relates to a production process of a porous carbon product, comprising: a) a step of providing a substrate surface; b) a deposition step of depositing silicon dioxide as a layer on the surface of the substrate, thereby obtaining a porous silicon dioxide material; c) a contact step of making the porous silicon dioxide material and a first carbon source come in contact on the surface of the substrate, thereby obtaining a first precursor including a porous silicon dioxide material and a first carbon source; d) a heating step of heating the first precursor, thereby obtaining a second precursor including the porous silicon dioxide material and carbon; and e) at least partial removal step of at least partially removing silicon dioxide from the second precursor, thereby obtaining a porous carbon product.
