The purpose of the present invention is to provide a silane compound which has a larger addition effect when the silane compound is used as a silane coupling agent, a surface treatment agent, a resin additive, a paint additive, an adhesive and the like, and less generates a low boiling point alcohol when used. A polycyclic aminosilane compound of the present invention is represented by general formula (1) in which R^1 indicates a substituted or unsubstituted C_1-C_20 monovalent hydrocarbon group or an organoxy group represented by general formula (2), -OR^8. In general formula (2), R^8 indicates a substituted or unsubstituted C_1-C_20 monovalent hydrocarbon group. R^2 to R^5 each independently indicate a substituted or unsubstituted C_1-C_20 monovalent hydrocarbon group, and R^6 and R^7 each independently indicate a substituted or unsubstituted C_1-C_20 divalent hydrocarbon group which may contain a hetero atom.
