물성이 우수한 흡수제를 효율적으로 제조하는 방법을 제공하는 것. 이 흡수제의 제조 방법은, 건조 보조제를 함유하는 입자상 함수 겔상 가교 중합체를 건조시키는 건조 공정을 포함한다. 이 건조 보조제는, (a) 분자 내에 탄소수 8 이상의 장쇄 알킬기, 1개의 제4급 질소 및 1개의 산기를 가지면서 베타인 구조를 갖는 화합물, 및/또는 (b) 분자 내에 탄소수 8 이상의 장쇄 알킬기, 1개의 제3급 질소 및 1개 이상의 산기를 갖는 화합물이다. 이 건조 보조제의 첨가량은, 입자상 함수 겔상 가교 중합체의 겔 고형분에 대하여 0.001질량％ 내지 0.5질량％이다. 이 제조 방법에서는, 건조 공정을 거쳐서 얻어지는 흡수성 수지 분말을 표면 가교한다. [Solution] The method for producing a water-absorbing agent includes a drying step of drying a particulate crosslinked hydrogel polymer containing a drying aid. The drying aid is (a) a compound having a betaine structure and having a long-chain alkyl group having 8 or more carbon atoms, one quaternary nitrogen, and one acid group within a molecule thereof and/or (b) a compound having a long-chain alkyl group having 8 or more carbon atoms, one tertiary nitrogen, and one or more acid groups within a molecule thereof. An addition amount of the drying aid with respect to a gel solid content of the particulate crosslinked hydrogel polymer is 0.001% by mass to 0.5% by mass. In this production method, surface-crosslinking is performed on water-absorbent resin powder obtained through the drying step.
