Provided are a system for detecting and incapacitating a small unmanned aircraft and an operation method thereof. The system for detecting and incapacitating a small unmanned aircraft includes: a detection and interception unit for detecting and intercepting a small unmanned aircraft; an operation control unit for showing location and information of the aircraft by a diagram when a signal of the detection and interception unit and controlling the detection and interception unit; and a confronting unmanned aircraft operation unit for operating a confronting unmanned aircraft as a confrontation means with the small unmanned aircraft. The operation method of the system includes: a tracing step of detecting and tracing a small unmanned aircraft; an aircraft discriminating step of discriminating whether or not the detected aircraft is a normal aircraft; a threat discriminating step of discriminating threat using a day and night optical sensor; a satellite navigation disturbing step for disturbing satellite navigation flight; a control signal disturbing step of disturbing a control signal if the control signal can be received from the unmanned aircraft; an aircraft removing step of directly removing the unmanned aircraft by dispatching the unmanned aircraft; a pilot managing step of taking warning or direct actions on a pilot by dispatching a confronting unmanned aircraft to the position of the control signal; and an aircraft removing step of physically removing the corresponding unmanned aircraft as a final means. The present invention which has the means for detecting and incapacitating the small unmanned aircraft can protect important country properties from various threats using small unmanned aircrafts and provide the optimum operation method suitable for given situations. 본 발명의 소형 무인 비행체를 탐지하고 무력화하는 시스템은 소형 무인 비행체를 탐지하고 요격하기 위한 탐지 요격 처리부; 탐지 요격 처리부의 신호를 입력하여 상기 비행체의 위치와 정보를 도시하고, 탐지 요격 처리부를 제어하기 위한 운용 통제부; 및 소형 무인 비행체에 대한 대응 수단으로서의 대응 무인 비행체를 운용하기 위한 대응 무인 비행체 운용부를 통합적으로 포함하며, 그 운용방법은 소형 무인 비행체를 탐지하는 탐지 및 추적하는 추적 단계; 정상적인 비행체 여부를 식별하는 비행체 식별 단계; 주야간 광학감지기를 이용하여 위협 여부를 확인하는 위협 식별단계; 위성항법 비행을 교란하기 위한 위성항법 교란 단계; 상기 무인 비행체의 조종신호를 수신할 수 있는 경우에 해당 조종신호를 교란하기 위한 조종신호 교란 단계; 상기 무인 비행체의 조종신호를 이용하여 해당 조종신호의 위치를 식별하기 위한 조종위치 식별 단계; 대응 무인 비행체를 파견하여 상기 무인 비행체를 직접 제거하기 위한 비행체 조치 단계; 상기 조종신호 위치로 대응 무인 비행체를 파견하여 해당 조종자에 대한 경고 및 직접적인 제압을 위한 조종자 조치 단계; 및 최종적인 수단으로서 해당 무인 비행체를 물리적으로 제거하는 비행체 제거 단계로 구성되는 것을 특징으로 한다. 상기와 같은 본 발명은 소형 무인 비행체의 탐지부터 무력화 수단까지를 구비하며, 주어진 상황에 최적의 운용방법을 제공하는 통합 시스템으로서 소형 무인 비행체를 이용한 주요 위협으로부터 중요한 국가 자산을 보호할 수 있는 수단을 제공한다.
