According to various embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device comprises a processor set to check a size of a sound for a designated time of an audio signal obtained from an external object, to change a reference level in which a gain value is changed for amplifying the audio signal according to a change in a size of the audio signal for at least a part of a section of the audio signal satisfying a designated condition from the audio signal when satisfying the designated condition by a frequency that the size of the sound is generated at a designated level or higher, and to amplify the at least part of the section according to the changed reference level.
