Summary:The invention relates to a flame retardant and to a method for manufacturing a flame retardant. The flame retardant is a compound represented by chemical formula (1). The method for manufacturing the flame retardant comprises the following steps: a mixing step of adding urea to phosphoric acid to prepare a phosphoric acid-urea mixture; a synthesis step of heating the phosphoric acid-urea mixture to prepare a phosphorus flame retardant; and a granulating step of crushing and pulverizing the phosphorus flame retardant. In the chemmical formula (1), n is an integer of 0 or more and 100 or less. The invention can provide an environmentally friendly and high performance flame retardant. 발명은 난연제 및 난연제의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 상기 난연제는, 하기 화학식 (1) 로 표현되는 화합물이다. 상기 난연제의 제조방법은, 인산에 대해 요소를 첨가하여 인산-요소 혼합물을 제조하는 혼합 단계, 상기 인산-요소 혼합물을 가열하여 인계 난연제를 제조하는 합성 단계 및 상기 인계 난연제를 파쇄 및 분쇄하는 입자화 단계를 포함한다. < 화학식 (1) >상기 화학식 (1)에서, n 은 0 이상 100 이하인 정수이다.
