The present invention relates to a headrest folding apparatus which can easily fold a headrest in the seat direction to increase internal space utilization of an automobile, comprising: a fixed frame which can be installed on the seat side; a rotary frame which is rotatable with respect to the fixed frame and can be installed on the headrest side; a locking member installed in the fixed frame and having a locking groove unit formed in a part thereof; a ratchet member installed in the rotary frame, having a locking protruding unit to be partially inserted into the locking groove unit and locked, and formed so as to be rotatable by a wire around a first hinge shaft so that the locking protrusion can be released from the locking groove unit and released from locking; and a clearance forming device installed between the wire and the ratchet member so as to form a clearance in the wire. 본 발명은 필요시 간편하게 헤드 레스트를 시트 방향으로 폴딩하여 차량의 내부 공간 활용도를 높일 수 있게 하는 헤드 레스트 폴딩 장치에 관한 것으로서, 시트측에 설치될 수 있는 고정 프레임; 상기 고정 프레임을 기준으로 회전이 가능하게 설치되고, 헤드 레스트측에 설치될 수 있는 회전 프레임; 상기 고정 프레임에 설치되고, 일부분에 걸림홈부가 형성되는 록킹 부재; 상기 회전 프레임에 설치되고, 일부분에 상기 걸림홈부에 삽입되어 록킹될 수 있도록 걸림돌기부가 형성되며, 상기 걸림돌기부가 상기 걸림홈부로부터 이탈되어 록킹이 해제될 수 있도록 제 1 힌지축을 중심으로 와이어에 의해 회전이 가능하게 형성되는 래칫 부재; 및 상기 와이어에 유격을 형성할 수 있도록 상기 와이어와 상기 래칫 부재 사이에 설치되는 유격 형성 장치;를 포함할 수 있다.
