The present invention relates to an auxiliary safety device for a bicycle. According to the present invention, the auxiliary safety device for a bicycle comprises: a front camera installed in the bicycle, which includes front and rear wheels installed at front and rear ends, respectively, to be able to rotate, to photograph the front ground of the bicycle; an image detection unit to receive a photographed image from the front camera and to receive an obstructive geographical feature obstructing traveling of the bicycle from the photographed image; an information providing unit installed in the bicycle to provide a rider of the bicycle with warning information; and a control unit controlling the information providing unit to warn the rider when the obstructive geographic feature is detected by the image detection unit. Accordingly, the auxiliary safety device for a bicycle detects the geographic feature obstructing traveling of the bicycle from an image photographed by the front camera to warn the rider, thereby providing an advantage of enabling the rider to safely ride the bicycle. 본 발명에 따른 자전거용 안전 보조 장치는 전후단에 각각 회전가능하게 전륜 및 후륜이 마련된 자전거에 설치되어 상기 자전거의 전방 지면을 촬영하는 전방 카메라와, 상기 전방 카메라로부터 촬영 영상을 제공받고, 상기 촬영 영상에서 상기 자전거의 주행을 방해하는 방해 지형지물을 검출하는 영상검출부와, 상기 자전거에 설치되어 상기 자전거의 탑승자에게 경고 정보를 제공하는 정보 제공부와, 상기 영상검출부로부터 상기 방해 지형지물이 검출시 상기 탑승자에게 경고할 수 있도록 상기 정보 제공부를 제어하는 제어부를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 자전거용 안전 보조 장치는 전방 카메라에 의해 촬영된 영상에서 자전거 주행에 방해가 되는 지형지물을 검출하여 탑승자에게 경고하므로 탑승자가 보다 안전자가 자전거를 운행할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
