Provided is a patch antenna for a surface wave of a metal plate which can transmit or receive a radio wave in an RF shadow zone. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the patch antenna for a surface wave comprises: a dielectric layer inserted between a plane layer and a pattern layer to form an electromagnetic field by the surface wave; the plane layer arranged on a first surface of the dielectric layer, and preventing the electromagnetic wave formed on the dielectric layer from being emitted; and the pattern layer arranged on a second surface of the dielectric layer, having a window formed to be designed by considering a wavelength of the surface wave, and being in contact with the metal plate to transmit the surface wave. 금속판의 표면파에 대한 패치형 안테나가 제공된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 표면파 패치 안테나는, 상기 표면파에 의한 전자계가 형성되도록 평면층과 패턴층 사이에 삽입되는 유전층, 상기 유전층의 제1 면에 배치되며, 상기 유전층에 형성된 전자계가 방사되는 것을 방지하는 상기 평면층, 및 상기 유전층의 제2 면에 배치되며, 상기 표면파가 특정 공진 주파수를 갖도록 하는 윈도우가 형성되고, 상기 금속판에 접촉되어 상기 표면파가 전파되도록 하는 상기 패턴층을 포함한다.
