According to an aspect of the present invention, a method for operating a voice server includes the steps of: receiving voice data from a home appliance; converting the received voice data into text data; analyzing the text data to identify a voice command; and transmitting a signal corresponding to the identified voice command to a predetermined server, thereby efficiently recognizing and processing the voice command. 본 발명의 일 측면에 따른 음성 서버의 동작 방법은, 홈 어플라이언스로부터 음성 데이터를 수신하는 단계, 수신한 음성 데이터를 텍스트(text) 데이터로 변환하는 단계, 텍스트 데이터를 분석하여 음성 명령을 판별하는 단계, 및, 판별한 음성 명령에 대응하는 신호를 소정 서버로 송신하는 단계를 포함함으로써, 음성 명령을 효율적으로 인식, 처리할 수 있다.
