According to an embodiment of the present invention, an underground cable state monitoring system comprises: a detection device arranged in the ground and detecting at least one among temperature, submersion, oil leakage, hydraulic pressure, displacement, and degradation of an underground cable; a wireless data transmission device for receiving detection data from the detection device and wirelessly transmitting the detection data in an active mode; a power supply device for generating power dependent on a current flowing in the underground cable and supplying power to at least one among the detection device and the wireless data transmission device; and a data collection device arranged on a movement device moving on the ground, transmitting a mode control signal for changing a mode of the wireless data transmission device, and collecting detection data. A mode of the wireless data transmission device may be changed from an inactive mode to an active mode after reception of a mode control signal, and may be changed from an active mode to an inactive mode after wireless transmission of detection data. 본 발명의 일 실시 예에 따른 지중케이블 상태 감시 시스템은, 지중에 배치되고 지중케이블의 온도, 침수, 누유, 유압, 변위, 열화 중 적어도 하나를 감지하는 감지장치와, 감지장치로부터 감지 데이터를 전달받고 활성 모드일 때 감지 데이터를 무선으로 전송하는 무선데이터전송장치와, 지중케이블에 흐르는 전류에 종속적인 전원을 생성하고 감지장치 및 무선데이터전송장치 중 적어도 하나에 전원을 공급하는 전원공급장치와, 지상에서 이동하는 이동장치에 배치되고 무선데이터전송장치의 모드를 변경시키는 모드제어 신호를 전송하고 감지 데이터를 수집하는 데이터수집장치를 포함하고, 무선데이터전송장치의 모드는 모드제어 신호의 수신 이후에 비활성 모드에서 활성 모드로 변경되고 감지 데이터의 무선 전송 이후에 활성 모드에서 비활성 모드로 변경될 수 있다.
