The present invention relates to a composition for promoting proliferation of adult stem cells including cyclic phytosphingosine-1-phosphate (cPIP, O-cyclic P1P), N-acetyl phytosphingosine-1-phosphate (NAPS-1-P) and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt in addition to basic medium, a composition for culturing adult stem cells including the same, or a composition for culture medium of serum-free or low-serum adult stem cells. When culturing stem cells by using the composition of the present invention, stem cell proliferation is promoted, activity and differentiation potency are improved, and stem cell extinction due to external stress can be prevented. 본원은 기본배지에 추가로 cP1P(O-싸이클릭 P1P), NAPS-1-P(N-아세틸피토스핑고신-1-포스페이트), 및 이들의 약학적으로 허용가능한 염을 포함하는 성제 줄기세포 증식 촉진용 조성물, 이를 포함하는 성체 줄기세포 배양 조성물 또는 무혈청 또는 저혈청 성체 줄기세포 배양배지용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본원의 조성물을 이용하여 줄기세포를 배양하면 줄기세포 증식 촉진, 활성 및 분화능이 개선되고 외부 스트레스에 대한 줄기세포 사멸을 방지할 수 있다.
