According to an embodiment of the present invention, disclosed is an electronic device which comprises: a communication module for performing communication with an external device; a memory for storing a list having identification information for at least one security application performing user authentication registered therein; and a processor electrically connected to the communication module and the memory. The processor is set to transmit information on factory initialization to an external device related to the security application based on the identification information on the list. Besides, various embodiments verified through the specification are possible. 본 발명의 일 실시 예는, 외부 장치와 통신을 수행하는 통신 모듈, 사용자 인증을 수반하는 적어도 하나의 보안 어플리케이션에 대한 식별 정보가 등재된 리스트를 저장하도록 구성된 메모리 및 상기 통신 모듈, 상기 메모리와 전기적으로 연결되는 프로세서를 포함하고, 상기 프로세서는 상기 전자 장치의 공장 초기화 이벤트가 발생하는 경우, 상기 리스트 상의 식별 정보에 기초하여, 상기 보안 어플리케이션과 연관된 외부 장치로 상기 공장 초기화에 대한 정보를 송신하도록 설정된 전자 장치를 개시한다. 이 외에도 명세서를 통하여 파악되는 다양한 실시 예가 가능하다.
