According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are an ultrasonic probe and a controlling method thereof, which provide information of an object and adjust a scalpel arranged on the ultrasonic probe according to the information, thereby precisely incising for each layer of the object, detecting an important part under an incision part and preparing for a dangerous situation capable of being generated during incision. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ultrasonic probe comprises: an incising part incising the object; an adjusting part adjusting the incising part; a transducer receiving an ultrasonic signal reflected by irradiating the ultrasonic signal to the object; and a control part determining the inside of the object based on the signal transmitted by the transducer, and controlling the adjusting part by corresponding to the inside of the object. 개시된 일 측면에 따라 초음파 프로브가 대상체의 정보를 제공하고, 정보에 따라 초음파 프로브에 마련된 메스를 조정함으로써, 대상체의 층 별로 정교한 절개가 가능하고, 절개 부위 아래에 주요 부분을 검출하여 절개 시 발생할 수 있는 위험 상황에 대비할 수 있는 초음파 프로브 및 그의 제어방법을 제공한다. 개시된 일 실시예에 따른 초음파 프로브는 대상체를 절개하는 절개부; 상기 절개부를 조절하는 조절부; 상기 대상체에 초음파 신호를 조사하여 반사되는 초음파 신호를 수신하는 트랜스듀서; 및 상기 트랜스듀서가 전달하는 신호에 기초하여 상기 대상체의 내부를 판단하고, 상기 대상체의 내부에 대응하여 상기 조절부를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함한다.
