Summary:The present invention relates to a battery cell on which an insulating coating layer is formed on an outermost unit cell located at the outermost among unit cells composing an electrode assembly, that is, an electrode plate facing a battery case. Although an existing separator has a high production cost and increases the thickness, the insulating coating layer ensures an insulating property, is low in a production cost, is thinner than the existing one and minimizes increase of the thickness of the electrode, thereby obtaining a sufficient energy density. In the battery cell in which the electrode assembly having a structure in which at least two unit cells are laminated is sealed inside the battery case, each of the unit cells is composed of a structure in which at least one positive plate and at least one negative plate are bonded, in a state that safety-reinforcing separators (SRS) on which an organic/inorganic complex coating layer is coated on both surface of a porous film substrate is interposed. 본 발명은 전극조립체를 구성하는 단위셀 중 최외곽에 위치한 단위셀의 최외측, 즉, 전지케이스와 내면하는 전극판 상에 절연 코팅층이 형성된 전지셀에 관한 것으로, 상기 절연 코팅층은 절연성의 담보와 기존의 분리막이 높은 생산 단가와 두께 증가의 원인인 것에 비해, 생단 단가가 저렴하고, 두께가 더 얇은 바, 전극의 두께 증가를 최소화시켜 충분한 에너지 밀도를 얻을 수 있는 이점을 제공한다.
