Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for evaluating coexistence in social relationship. The method comprises: detecting heart rate information from two subjects; extracting heart rhythm variability (HRV) data (spectrum) of the two subjects from the heart rate information; obtaining a difference of a peak frequency and a difference of a peak amplitude by using the HRV data of the two subjects; and evaluating coexistence between the two subjects by comparing the difference of a peak frequency and the difference of a peak amplitude between the two subjects with an optional reference value (rule base). 사회적 관계성에서 공존감을 평가하는 방법 및 장치에 대해 기술한다. 평가 방법:은 두 피험자로부터 심박 정보를 검출하는 단계; 상기 심박 정보로부터 두 피험자의 HRV(Heart Rhythm Variability) 데이터(스펙트럼)를 추출하는 단계; 상기 두 피험자의 HRV 데이터를 이용하여 피이크 주파수의 차이(difference of peak frequency)과 피이크 진폭의 차이(difference of peak amplitude)를 구하는 단계; 상기 두 피험자 간의 피이크 주파수의 차이(difference of peak frequency)과 피이크 진폭의 차이(difference of peak amplitude)를 임의 기준치(룰베이스)에 비교하여 두 피험자 간의 공존감을 평가하는 단계;를 포함한다.
