The present invention relates to an LED driver IC capable of preventing a malfunction such as flickering of an LED in a low voltage signal and noise, and an LED package having a built-in driver IC. An LED driver IC connected to an LED chip including at least one LED to turn on/off the LED according to the present invention includes a constant current circuit part provided between a power input terminal and a ground terminal to regulate input power to a constant current; and a switching circuit part having a first switching transistor (TR) and a second switching TR which are turned on by the output of the constant current circuit part. The first switching TR has a base terminal connected to an output terminal of the constant current circuit part and a collector terminal connected to the ground terminal. The second switching TR has a base terminal connected to an emitter terminal of the first switching TR, an emitter terminal connected to a power input terminal, and a collector terminal for supplying driving power to the LED chip. According to the present invention, the switching circuit part of the driver IC is composed of a two-stage TR, in which the collector terminal of the first switching TR is connected to the ground terminal to generate a combined leakage current of the first switching TR and a parasitic TR during the OFF operation of the first switching TR. The abnormal operation of the LED in a low voltage signal and noise can be prevented only by the configuration of the switching circuit without the addition of a noise filter or a resistor, so that the LED package can be fabricated with light weight, slim structure, small size and compact configuration. 본 발명은 저전압 신호 및 노이즈에서 LED가 깜빡거리는 등의 오동작을 방지할 수 있는 LED 드라이버 IC 및 드라이버 IC가 내장된 LED 패키지에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 LED 드라이버 IC는, 적어도 하나의 LED를 포함하는 LED 칩과 연결되어 상기 LED를 점등 구동하는 LED 드라이버 IC에 있어서, 전원 입력단과 접지단 사이에 설치되어 입력 전원을 정전류 레귤레이팅하는 정전류 회로부; 및 상기 정전류 회로부의 출력에 의해 턴 온 되는 제1 스위칭 TR 및 제2 스위칭 TR을 포함하며, 상기 제1 스위칭 TR은 상기 정전류 회로부의 출력단에 베이스 단자가 연결되고 상기 접지단에 콜렉터 단자가 연결되며, 상기 제2 스위칭 TR은 상기 제1 스위칭 TR의 이미터 단자에 베이스 단자가 연결되고 상기 전원 입력단에 이미터 단자가 연결되고 상기 LED 칩에 구동 전원을 공급하는 출력단에 콜렉터 단자가 연결되는 스위칭 회로부를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따르면, 드라이버 IC의 스위칭 회로부를 2단 TR로 구성하되 제1 스위칭 TR의 콜렉터 단자를 접지단과 연결하여 제1 스위칭 TR의 Off 동작 시에 제1 스위칭 TR과 기생 TR의 합성 누설전류를 발생시키도록 하며, 저전압 신호 및 노이즈에서 LED의 이상 동작을 방지할 수 있고, 노이즈 필터 또는 저항의 부가 없이 스위칭 회로의 구성만으로 이상 동작을 방지함으로써 LED 패키지의 경방단소화를 저해하지 아니할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
